What regiment are you looking to join ?
I was asked today what Regiment i wanted to join, but i didnt have a clue what ones there was. He suggested Grenadiers (sp?) as he has served there for the last 23 years. I said anyone that is related to Manchester :) as thats my home city. He is looking into it for me. He also suggested Kings something :-? but its full of scousers, no thankyou, not that i dont like them i dont think i could handle a whole regiment full of scouse accents.
RMP...RMP...It's the only Corps for me
I dont like the police full stop, so i'm hardly going to become a military one now am i?

Right i didn't say you or the military police were tossers. What i said is i dont like police, always there when you dont need them (Hassling and giving me grief and a PNC, even though i am not a criminal i just wear a hoody, hat and sports clothes) and never there when you need them. If i was beat up in a bar, i wouldn't call the police. If i had a car accident and it was serious, the police would be there not because i called them. If i had my house broken into, i wouldn't call the police. Why? Because i have no faith in them. They turn up look around take some details and f@#k off never to be seen again. Then send you a shitty letter saying after their enquires they didn't find a culprit (Nothing New.) I would much rather not get them involved thankyou.

So Grimey, you do not like police? I look forward to replying to some of your future posts, and good luck in your career in the Infantry, especially the years in support of the PSNI in Northern Ireland. Police primacy is such a wonderful concept sometimes. :D

Oh thanks. I didnt say that was my interest disliking the police.
I like music, nothing wrong with that.
I have handed my application form in to the army and i would like to share my views on the army. This forum has a lot of information and looks like a good forum, there is no crime in that. :agrue:

when and if you grow up and get into the services you will be thankful that we have a police force, when your on foot patrol in belfast and the psni chap passes on his experiances to you, telling you who the bad guys are, when you may get posted to iraq and you have to work with the cival police, same for cyprus etc etc........your young and you get moved on by the police from the places you and your mates hang about at but hey thats what being young is all about, you get moved on for a reason and that reason is not because you wear a hoody top.
if your ever lucky to get to germany you will think we are like the 7th cav in the old cowboy films when your involved in a scuffle with the locals who are all tooled up or when the gcp or german cival police have nicked you for being drunk and are holding you in the cells.
just to get you thinking....you say you dislike the police, lets hope its not the same with them because who do you think helps complete your vetting to get in ???

Oh come on, when and if?? Its not a crime to dislike them. Hey if i am in them situations then my views will change, but right now they are the same because of my past dealings with them, not future.

Hello Grimey,

Just thought that I would drop you a quick line. I don't know how old you are and perhaps if you are a young age it may excuse your comments against the police.

You may find that a high proportion of your prospective military career will be assisting the police in countries where violence and disorder are commonplace. Then perhaps you may learn what a difficult job they have to do.

The police is also an excellent career for ex-services, many joining upon leaving so perhaps you may engage brain before opening mouth in future.

Lets have a look at the people who hate the police.
They are usually the great unwashed who have chips on their shoulders with something to hide.
Or young,i know everything types who have a narrow outlook on life.
The minority who have had rough justice.

The police have there hands tied when dealing with crime.
If people were to find out how frustrated the police were in there job,im sure people would view them in a different light.
You can generally judge a person on there views.
Reading this thread i have my view.
Im sure Mr chip on shoulder will enjoy being a gravel belly.

Your past dealings...
Grimey wotnots wrote:but right now they are the same because of my past dealings with them, not future.
and what might these be?
The plod are alright, at times they have their hands tied behind their backs with red tape and they are as miffed about it as most good citizens. There are a few who will tell you that but the majority have to toe the official line, they have no choice.
The ones that nick you for speeding, doing drugs, being drunk, nicking some beer from the shop etc are doing their job; you are the one breaking the law.

The thing is i am not breaking the law walking down the street, to be spoken to like a dickhead and look like a muppet being searched is not nice. I am not here to have an argument, i just said i dont like the police. I may change my mind i may not, i don't know. Don't diss me because of it, everyone is entitled to their opinion, doesn't mean i have a chip on my shoulder either just because i don't agree with you.
