Paras role in Afghanistan?
Will be arriving in London on 4 February, so as soon as I can get my interview going and the tests and the rest. Not sure how long this will all take, but the faster the better. I hope P Coy is a bitch, that way it is worth passing, otherwise there wouldn't be a point, then all I got to do is pass it!! Can imagine this is easier said than done, but will cross that bridge when i get there. Now all I want is just to get in.
Whats the 'Blue Badge of Courage", got something to do with P Coy?? Excuse my ignorance.

right, makes sense now. I recon I must look like a right old git, seen as I will hopefully be joining them, and I don't know about the badge
Well...hopefully given a lot of hard work, sweat and probably a bit of luck here and there i can get my own badge. Don't really have a choice, I either make it or.....make it! haven't travelled half way around the world not to make it thats for sure!

What are the Paras
Obviously I know of the Red beret wearing paratroopers but I know hardly nothing about them. I never seem to see them on the news, there are never any programs about them on tele and when I recently got a book about a career in the army, there was nothing about them. Few questions.
What are there roles in the army?
Whats the selection process like (as tough as the marines)?
Are they as skilled and fit as they marines?
And do they get paid as much as the marines?

The real names Gareth. I want to join the royal marines in the future.

Peackeeping etc, they do the same as infantry i think but get there by parachute!!
As i'm marines biased id say it wasnt as tough as the marines but right up there with it! I guess they are almost as fit as marines, again probibly close. but im not sure if the Paras do arctic, mountain training etc. Where as the Royals do!
I guess all riflemen are on the same wages!!
