Newcastle Brown Ale, John Smiths Bitter, The two best drinks for men, the rest is cat piss in comparison. Used to drink stout and mild ale mix, known as black and tan, seems to have died out with the introduction of continental and American crap. The real beers that we used to get, cost more to produce than the lagers, which is why the brewers adverts were all in favour of the latter.
Ok, by wife beater are you talking about 1664??? Because that’s its nick name down here...
Yer down here Stella is know as wife beater, I cant stand 1664
I fight for my corner and secondly I leave when the pub closes. - Winston Churchill
up here a pint of wif beater depends on what pub you go in, most it is stella and in sam smiths brewery pub it is ayingerbrau pills, (they had to take it of draught and sell it in half bottles because it was making people eat there own arms and stuff )
stuck in a rut, unsure about the future, unsure about the military lifestyle, for a while anyway
I would have to say I haven't really had a beer in about 8 years, I am mostly a whisky man, but back in the day as a youth I seem to remeber drinking "Bull Max" which was technically a malt liquer.
If a man has nothing he is willing to die for then he isn't fit to live.
I was on the old tart fuel last night £1 for a bottle of K Ice. It's just a bottle of alcoholic sugar. really rank. But my favourite beer is Lowenbrau, strong and tasteful...

Now you mention it, I have not seen Mild for years. Tetley use do it in light and dark mild. I used to drink them both when I was a member of Strensall WMC depending on how I felt and they were both very tasty
Hydes Black is a cracking good mild. I call it poor mans Guiness.
Favorite ales. For me a choice of 2.
HSB (Horndean special brew) Gales ales.
HSD (Hicks special draft/High speed death) St Austell brewery
HSD used to be available in the Plume & Doom Princetown. Was fun to introduce this little belter to the "Bitter Tops" boys. 4 pints and they had had it!
I am sorry that I can't comment on this thread as I am stuck with this Canadian crap, which is only slightly better than the American crap, so I stick to Johnnie Walker.
Andy, I found the Canadian Beers quite nice... Moosehead, Red Rock (still got the Tshirts from the brewery run although the hangover has now gone!!) and a few of the Local Nova Scotia (I loved that place... or was it the women that I loved??) beers were good as well.
