ADSC in 2weeks

Post by st-kia »

I've got my ADSC in two weeks and I'm feeling a bit deprived against myself, a fear of failure.
Many people feel reluctant about themselves when it comes to actually doing something that they really want to do well in. My general goal is to do well; reach my physical boundaries, mental abilities and hopefully shine to the officers in charge.

BUT I feel down about this, not because I feel that preparation is lacking, as it most certainly isn't, but because topic after topic I see I can only see people getting C grades, infact, my recruiter previously told me that the majority of the regiment I wish to join has got C grades, Royal Artillery.
Now, I wouldn't feel so bad about myself if the majority got B or A but because they got a C it makes me feel as if this is vigorously hard, I got told if I want the job I'll be aiming for a high B or possibly an A.

Alright, so, rather than me boffling on about how down I feel about myself, I'd like your professional opinions, the one's that have passed with a B or an A grade.
Here's my current level:

Running 1.5MILES in roughly 9.00 to 9.25minutes, but could push myself harder with training this week and next.
Completed the Jerry Can Carry and Bag Lifting and revised back and forth in the Ice Breaker.
I know a fair amount about my job choice, as do I about the seconds job choice (Third is fairly simple, infantry.)

I know they're fairly good and nothing to be deprived about, but I am. Honestly, I don't want to fail and will put 100% effort in but when the time comes it really does feel different, especially from the audience I have at home.
Icebreaker for example, swell at home but in front of people my face glows like a red popstick, honestly.

Any tips, I mean professional tips, something that you COULD have improved on prior to going to selection? Something that WILL give me the grade I want, I don't want to sound like a prick just really nervous and as a last resort I'd like to speak to people that have recently passed the selection course.

Thanks a lot :)

Easy, passed with an A grade.
Also recommended for officer training by one of the CO's.

Some up's and down's whilst having attending ADSC, but, stick with it.
As far as fitness goes, I think being fit also plays a huge role in being down there, but overall, it's your confidence and integrity.
