My Dream

Post by srcollection »

Ive dreamed to be a US Army Soldier since I was a child. It was something I always wanted. I literally had dreams of me graduating boot camp and achieving my lifes dream. The problem is that I tried enlisting already, but had a medical discharge. I never was able to get through basic training. Its the most disappointing section of my life. Years later Im still depressed thinking about how close I came to having that uniform with the Nametape of US ARMY. The medical person Im seeing told me its not my fault that IM not responsible but its hard to accept. And its impossible to move on. Ive tried school, different careers, anything that was of interest, but they all fell through. Every time at these places I cant help but fall into thinking... how does this help me back in.

Currently Im working on my medical situation and its getting alot better. Hopefully in a year or two ... I should be 100%. The problem is MEPS wont take me back. A Recruiter told me so. I tried numerous times and theres no way.

My problem is... My lifes goal is to be a US Army Soldier... and I will never stop from achieving that honor. What can I do to make that dream a reality?

One thought I had was ... A SGT once told me that Meps discards medical records of applicants after 5 years. Is this true? Should I wait till 2013 / 2014 and try again?

If you haven't noticed this is a BRITISH military forum, if you want answers to this question go on an American forum or even contact the US army.
