1.5 mile run

just found out my run has only been 1.37miles it said 1.5miles in car but on the jogging website its only 1.37miles did it in 8.52 secs this morning so what am asking if im doing it in 8.52 for 1.37 miles should that get in inside the time of 9.18 for the 1.5mile run ?

Best thing to do is just mark out a new route and try it. Should think you would be ok, you always run faster at ADSC. Racing against other people and the adrenalin pushes you on!

was the web site www.mapmyrun.com cause thats the one a use mate :) its pritty good like

yea thats the site i use.I was gutted when i checked it on the site this morning lol.I was thinking if i can do the 1.37miles run in around 8.30 i should be ok.

im 18 and about to attend my AOSB , im very keen to join the paras after sandhurst , wat 1.5 mile time should i be looking at for an officer ?

Anyone wanting to join the Para's should be aiming for 9 mins or under I would say. Even better for Officers! :D

i can manage a constant 9 mins ,without serious training, any training tips ?

Keep running mate, the one thing i wish i done alot more of before coming to Depot. Swimming is a good one aswell, its a change. Do alot of hill work aswell i would say. Good Luck mate, all the best

The mapmyrun website is not accurate, I do a run which i know for a fact is 3 miles and the website says its only 2.3 miles. Also the most recent 1.5 miler i did at bassngbourne baracks came up as 1.2 miles.

when your joining up 9.30mins or under is ideal, but you must always be pushing yourself - the gas MUST be out of that tank when you cross that finish line, if you fall into this category before actually starting recruits dont fret as your on the correct path. I can garantee you unless you mong it, you WILL improve your time! put it this way i went into regulars at 28 my bft was prob about 10min or so, i didnt fret as i knew it would improve. within 2 to 3 month id shaved it down to 9 mins. not bad for the recruit they christened 'grandad'. :lol:

Nah mate, was supposed to have a full weekend but all of Para Coy had to clean rifles on sat morning. So just headed straight home after we got stood down. You looking forward to Depot? you've been before havent you, what week did you get too?

whats faster big strides or small faster strides i live at a bit were there is quite a lot of joggers and my girlfriend said i look differnt to most other people jogging she said i take bigger steps than the pther joggers i am 6ft 1 so quite tall and i guess i just find it more natural running this way ?

I came out at week 6 mate, but didn't pass off the square becasue I was injured. Never been to Helles though, was over in Vimmy. How's it going mucker what week you in now? Can't wait to get up there! :D
