1.5 mile run
im 18 and about to attend my AOSB , im very keen to join the paras after sandhurst , wat 1.5 mile time should i be looking at for an officer ?
Re: 1.5 mile run
Anyone wanting to join the Para's should be aiming for 9 mins or under I would say. Even better for Officers!jambow91 wrote:im 18 and about to attend my AOSB , im very keen to join the paras after sandhurst , wat 1.5 mile time should i be looking at for an officer ?

The mapmyrun website is not accurate, I do a run which i know for a fact is 3 miles and the website says its only 2.3 miles. Also the most recent 1.5 miler i did at bassngbourne baracks came up as 1.2 miles.

when your joining up 9.30mins or under is ideal, but you must always be pushing yourself - the gas MUST be out of that tank when you cross that finish line, if you fall into this category before actually starting recruits dont fret as your on the correct path. I can garantee you unless you mong it, you WILL improve your time! put it this way i went into regulars at 28 my bft was prob about 10min or so, i didnt fret as i knew it would improve. within 2 to 3 month id shaved it down to 9 mins. not bad for the recruit they christened 'grandad'.

whats faster big strides or small faster strides i live at a bit were there is quite a lot of joggers and my girlfriend said i look differnt to most other people jogging she said i take bigger steps than the pther joggers i am 6ft 1 so quite tall and i guess i just find it more natural running this way ?
