Alright, I'm going to try and join the RM towards the end of this year.
I've got two questions really. First, I love to kickbox, do judo and am really interessted in getting into MMA. I also like powerlifting. Will I be able to keep training or will there be opportunities to keep doing these things after I complete all the training?
Also during training will I be allowed to bring supplements with me and will there be any spare time in the evening where I can train ( I know I won't be able to do weights and stuff, but I mean things like body weight exercises), as when I did the TA CIC, we often had a few hours in the evening to sort out admin and then go down the NAFFI for drinks (No alcohol).
It's jsut I've taken alot of time making my body bueatiful, even if I do say so myself, so it would be a shame to loose it all during the training.
Also, how much food do you get during training when you're at barracks?

Basically during training you can say goodbye to it all for several reasons . One you wont be able to do it due to lack of free time , two there arn't the opportunities available to you during training as oppose to when you get to a unit and too be honest mate the amount of phys you do in the day you wont wont too neither will you have the energy . By all means you can use supplements but dont expect to keep your size up , the rigorous training , lack of sleep and good food sometimes will obviously mean you will lose size and strength but you will get awesomely fit.

Focus on what you're down there to do is what I say... I'm sure you'd get there with intentions of doing all of the above and soon find there no way in hell you could manage it .
Having not been down there I can say for sure... but I'm guessing spar time will be spend doing admin or getting what little rest you can.
By the way... thats an awful lot of things you say you enjoy... MMA training and power lifting? I'm guessing you mean you do one and the other is a complimentary thing?
Anyone who's trained properly for combat sports (maybe you have not sure form you're post) will surely know that the Rigorous training of a power lifter is impossible to fit in there as well.
Do you just mean you training in you're various forms of martial arts and lifting weight to help help on a maximal strength front?
Not having a snipe at you here by the way. I just can't see how it's possible as I know how tough both things are. (not to mention very different)

P.S. I'm sure you'll be surprised how little size you'll actually lose training with that intensity... I know it's important to look and feel good about you're self (Its only natural to take self pride in you're appearance) but really doing phys day in day out i doubt you'll end up looking like a couch potato very quickly .
From what I've herd from people on the board here the scran down there is good quality and plentiful, though there are certainly going to be times when you are in the field and not eating high protein balanced meals every few hours.
Having not been down there I can say for sure... but I'm guessing spar time will be spend doing admin or getting what little rest you can.

Yeah I know what you mean. I train Kickboxing twice a week for about three hours each, then I box and do Judo once a week. I only started Judo recently but I'm at an ok amateur level in Kickboxing, I would like to go pro some time in the future.

If I have to loose mass during training that's fine, but to clarify the training staff wouldn't have a problem with me taking supplements down and keeping them in my locker at the barracks?
I know I won't end up looking like a couch potato I'm more worried that i'll look like an long distance runner.

Supplements are banned, full stop, so don't be bringing down big tubs of powder and pills.
Don't worry about not being able to do your martial arts training while you're at CTC,
you'll get fitter and stronger than you've ever been, and when you complete RM training and resume your martial arts (in your free time at a unit) your body will get back into it quickly.
In the meantime you'll be concentrating on the RM training.
Everyone's hobbies and interests take a major back seat for the duration.
Don't worry about not being able to do your martial arts training while you're at CTC,
you'll get fitter and stronger than you've ever been, and when you complete RM training and resume your martial arts (in your free time at a unit) your body will get back into it quickly.
In the meantime you'll be concentrating on the RM training.

Though I'm not anti-suppliments if you eat right you will see very little (if any) negative effects from not using them. (depending on what it is exactly you use)
