for the ice breaker there is a board with different catergories on it, for example family, where you live, hobbies etc etc. Just say a little about each catergory, its easy you just tell the truth lol
And the heaves are not a pass or fail, its just a bonus if you can do a few. There were people that couldn't do any at all and they still passed.
You should still practise them and try to do at least one or two
Good luck

Iv'e got my ADSC coming up mate and i was kind of worried about my ice-breaker but just speak in a relaxed manner, give everybody eye contact, dont speak to fast because you'll probably cock up & show them that you are confident. As for heaves it totally depends on you, most of ADSC is best effort apart from the run just give it 110% keep doing pullups until you can't feel your arms just show them that your so determined to get in the army.

I was quite nervous but it helped that we were seperated into groups of about 12 in the medical, so you only do it in front of that 12 people, plus because the boards there you cant go wrong really, just remember that everybody thats sat there listening to you feels the exact same way you do, everyone is nervous and thinking oh my god what am i going to say. My whole body was shaking at first lol even my voice but once you get into it its fine.tobyj wrote:are thanks. wht was it like for you when you done your icebreaker?
how many heaves did you do? and i bought a bar so im guna put it up and practice.
I only did about 3 heaves but i'm a girl lol so my upper body isn't brilliant (thats my excuse and im sticking to it) but even when i couldnt do any more i still kept trying to pull myself up until the pti told me to let go. But honestly they wont fail you if you cant do any, i think it mailny goes by the static lift, back strength and jerry can carry.
AdamB - well thanka for ur advice im sure it will work. im pretty good at my run last week i got 9.58. and at the minute im working on my upper body strength.
gudwin1988 - im so glad you dont have to speak ifront of about 50 people thats what i was expecting but 12 isnt so bad i guess.
Are you both going to harrogate?

No if i pass ADSC i'll be going to Catterick, i just missed Jnr course i think i was 17 years & 1 1/2 month when i applied & im 17 & 4months now. Don't worry mate, its hard to not worry at first but when you get your ADSC date you get so excited and so much more determined because it comes that bit more real. I got 3 weeks and i really can't wait im really excited lol. You had your first interview yet?
Pretty much the same in the first one, i was lucky enough to have mine 5 minutes after my first one. He should just look through what your recruiter writ about you ask you a few questions, then you will have to do your ice-breaker infront of him, providing everythings ok you should get a call with your ADSC date.
Yeah the total infantry course is 26 weeks long. Im going to ADSC lichfield, do you know wich one yours will be?
