Female PTI requirements

Post by hayleyashley »

Hello

Does anyone know the requirements for a female joining as a PTI in the RAF? I have seen on here all the past posts and was wondering if it was the same as the men?

I am a fitness instructor and train most days so i have great cv fitness and am a strong swimmer so i dont see those aspects being a problem but the press ups and sit ups could be an issue if they are the same standard as the men!

Please could someone let me know? I cannot find any info on the website and at the AFCO they just say ' as many as possible in a minute' I would love a target to work to.

Thanks :-?

Thanks for your reply

Well I can only imagine if those are the zones for a female in the RAF that a PTI female would have to far exceed those targets!

Realy want a training point to work to. (that is hoping I get that far, I have my aptitude tests tomorrow)

any other comments or info on this would be great ...

Thanks again PAGreenwell

Do you need coaching qualifications/experience to be a PTI

Post by atkinsb »

Hello All

I am new to the forum and have a couple of questions i am hoping someone will be able to answer for me.

I recently applied to become a PTI. I have sat my aptitude tests and passed with good enough scores to allow me to choose any trade within the RAF.

I have also had my selection interview and that went really well. My AFCO during the interview suggested i went for my 2nd choice trade (Firefighter) becuase i have no experience of coaching or any coaching qualifications. Without these i was told i would not stand a chance in hell (not exactly word for word but somethihg along those lines) of getting 'through the door' of the PTI school.

Is this true?

I was advised to apply as a Firefighter then see what coahing qualifications are availble through the education office on base and apply to get some of these quals under my belt and re-apply at a later date. Good advice or not?

Any comments would much appreciated.

If PTI is what you want then PTI you shall be.
At the end of the day your signing up for 6 or 9 years so you decide what you want to do not the pen pushers, their just looking to fill jobs that are needed.

If you can do any job tho I would be a pilot looks a nice job.
Hope I have been of some help doubt it tho but good luck.

FEMALE PHYSICAL TRAINING INSTRUCTORS

Post by hayleyashley »

Hello

There must be someone out there that has some more info on the female PTI 3 day specialist interview requirements.

I am really trying hard to build up some upper body strength by doing Press ups to failure 3 times a day along with some other strength training exercises but it is so frustrating.

Also when you perform the sit-ups during the test is someone holding your feet down?

Anyone with any info on this subject would be great.

Thanks
