1.5 mile run

hi i have my formal interview on thursday and i need to give them a time for 1.5 mile, i am having problems with this, what do you use to time yourself, and how do you know how far 1.5 mile is = i have pedometer but it not accurate, also i am thinking the scots guards or the rifles, any body else doing these

i am from county durham anyone else near here joining up

try and measure the 1.5 mile with a car or something. I used my old scooter to measure it for me. Seriously though mate wouldn't you use a stop watch to time yourself?

http://www.mapmyrun.com and a watch. Map your 1.5mile route, run out in one direction medium pace to warm up. Stop, turn around, press go and run like greased weasel shit.

i cannot for the life of me figure out how this website works. how do you create a route?

Zoom in to where you will be running, select point from the menu on the right, then add the points on your run to create your route, its like conect the dots.

A note on mapmyrun.com. I measure a 1.5mile route with it, and later discovered it was about half a mile short. Google earth has a measuring tool that is much more accurate.

hey mark its me glenn :D your a bloody legend thanks for that website, I worked my route out in steps, to my demise all this time ive been clocking my so called 1.5 miler, well turns out i have been running 2.1 miles :S but my best time is 9:17 so im excited to try and break into 8 minutes now that i can work out an accurate route :D thanks, glenn.
