I just ran the 1.5miles give or take a bit. In just under 12mins, I thought I was seriously unfit but maybe not. I'm just lazy but I have something to aim for to get into the RAF!

Marines is 10:30 and trust me 12 minutes is nothing once you get training. 15 minutes for 3 miles. 16 Minutes for 3.2km speed march with 20k and then you know your doing some training for the RAF Regiment.

Good luck with your training dont be lazy and remember to work on your upper body strength because if you got some 2 Squadron Corporals they will make sure to work you very hard. The ranges are also a killer if you dont find all your empty cases. A Rifle seems much lighter when you dont have to run 200 metres 10 times with it :)

Why is it pointless? The guy has achieved something and feels good about himself for it.

So, IMHO, he has done just right and told us so.

There have been comments about how dusty the forum has become of late so the last thing we need is derision about personal achievement.

Folk will stop posting altogether.

By the way, I had me stitches out last week and me blood pressure is only slighty abnormal.

Well done mate keep up though dont let off cos u acheieved something, give yourself another goal to acheive, but remember for the army when in your selection you run half or more of your 1.5 mile to warm up with the whole group then you time your 1.5 mile run so make sure your running about 3 miles and do the last 1.5 miles timed to make sure you can do it easily at your test!! Not sure what happens elsewhere though RAF, Navy etc,.

Alot of people didnt do that and and thought they could run it in 10 mins but the run before messed there times up and they run it in about 14 mins.

My point is to just add a bit to your run so you can run it on the day quicker with ease. :D
