Look at life course 4 days before PRMC

Post by woody72 »

I really don't know what to do. I have the chance to go on the Royal Marines 'Look at life' course which is 5 days down at Lympstone doing a load of physical stuff. I actually have been before back in December but i'd still love to go again.

The thing is, 4 days after coming back i have my PRMC on the 20th of May and so i will be up there again. At first i said no to going but i ended up getting persuaded but i'm still not sure.

What do you think? I'd have 3 solid days to rest and do nothing before PRMC.

If you don't give it a bash how are you ever going to know if you could do it?

Maybe I'm just paranoid. I shouldn't get injured and thats the only way it could put my PRMC in jeopardy I guess. And I'd get back on the 16th so I'd have all of the 17th, 18th and 19th to rest and get ready and head out back to Lympstone on the 20th.

Hmm.. i reckon I'll go on it.

To be honest i wouldn't recommend it . For a start you'll be more then likely overtrained when it matters.....Prmc you really dont want to be doing any phys for the last 5 days before PRMC, I see you live in grimsby im in Lincoln and its a long train jounrey down there im sure you don't want to be going 8 hours there and the same back twice over in the period of a week ... i know i wouldn't.

Yeah we did the endurance and assault course. We did the 3 miler, 1.5 mile out as group 1.5mile best effort back.

We did the swimming assessment (jumping off the board) and swam a few lengths with various strokes.

The last day was pretty good we did 'stalking' were one team camo's up and the other is on lookout and we've gotta crawl through this bushy (and nettley) terrain as close as we can to them without getting spotted.

We went on a virtual rifle simulator too. Had a weapons lecture, saw the museum and had a chat with some fellas in hunter troop so we could ask them questions.

Was a real good time.
