1) The inside of my left foot underneath the arch of your foot gets blisters on long runs. This only happens on my left foot and not on my right. Do running socks help prevent this by airing the foot better or is it a case of needing specialist running shoe?
2) The training for The Parachute Regiment is now 28 weeks. Could someone tell me what the extra 2 weeks include, whether they are added in phase 1 of 2 training and the reason if known why they are added.
Thanks in advance for the answers. The answer to question 2 is quite important as i have my interview next week.

Regarding the blisters, I would most certainly buy proper running trainers and socks to match.
Running in el-cheapo or standard work socks is really not advisable. I wear big woolie type ones to work and running in them sees me squidging all over the shop (which then causes blisters and other sores).
A good sports shop (non of the high street junk) would fit you up properly, maybe even get you on a running machine (as mine does) and they will select the best running shoe for you.
Socks are again important. I wear rather thin socks for running which are quite tight fitting (http://www.specialistsocks.co.uk/m7/X_Sock/index.html). They wick sweat away quickly and keep me comfortable.
