Application Update

Post by McGuire86 »

Sent my application about 3 weeks ago now.
Did my BARBS test today and scored 70.
Hope to have my interview within the next two weeks.
So all is looking good so far and I'm very excited to getting that little bit closer :D

BTW Forgive my ignorance but could someone tell me a brief step by step for entry into the regiment, thanks!

Just to say I've just been contacted and have been given the green light for my medical questionaire.

I have my interview next Monday morning.

So if anyone can give me any tips and advice on what to expect then feel free to fire away, thanks.

The only tips for the interview worth giving is to be yourself and be honest you don't have to make anything up to sound more impressive.

The interview is more about getting to know you a bit better rather than the type of interview you would have for and office job for example where you would be expected to demonstrate why you're qualified for the job etc...

The questions mainly centre around your family, schooling, personal interests/hobbies, your ambitions and why you'd like to join the Paras. They may ask you a few questions about the Regiment and about the training ie; how long is basic training (it's 28 weeks) and if you know when you do the jumps course etc.. it's all basic stuff and they won't hold it against you if you don't know the correct answer.

Just try to relax and don't panic, if you can do that you should be fine.

McGuire86 I had my interview 2 weeks ago got selection on the 4th Feb, I was very nervous about the interview but when I got there it was very laid back, he just asked me a few simple questions about my home life then put me in front of a t.v and I watched a film about ADSC, and that was it, easy mate.

Did the interview today, was easy, passed :D . Now awaiting a date for ADSC for around mid - March time to give me more time to get my 1.5mile time down to the 9minute mark.
