Drive down to your local AFCO, approach desk, reveal arm.

It's the only way to be sure mate.

Cheers for another sensible answer, but when i was on the phone to my local AFCO i even offered to come down and show the bloke my tattoo's but he said no point as long as they dont go past the collar or cuff i SHOULD be fine.

Its not that I dont believe him, its because he said SHOULD not WILL?!

Ahhh I dunno maybe im worrying about nothing, but I dont want to do more training and then get told that im not allowed in.

They should clear all of this up with more information on the Royal Marines website I think.

Why not train anyway. That way, even if you are turned down, you will still be fit!

Believe it or not, some crazy people don't train to be passed fit for anything, they only train for personal satisfaction, and a sense of achievement :o .

Crazy bastards.

Fair enough. You made RM training sound a bit of a chore, that's all.

Theyre not offensive/racist or anything and dont show over long sleeves so i'd imagine they would be ok with them. But go down and see you'r afco and show him/her and see what they say.

He has already. But he won't listen to them and forget about it.

If your AFCO said it should be fine, then i don't see why you are so bothered about it. Just put some effort in, carry on with the application process. If, as your AFCO thinks, it's not a problem, then GREAT.

If it is...well, you should have thought about that BEFORE you got the tattoo hadn't you?
Another foreigner...figures.

Passed out. 25th of July 2008!

NO, you will not be allowed to join up with some off the smallest, dumb fcuk tattoos I have ever seen, why on earth you ever thought you could bypasses me........happy now?

For fcuksake, anyone that sees them will instantly realise your inability to be fed information and absorb it.

P.s your curtains are shite.

You might be seeing why you're winding some people up now Riggsy. As has been said by different people, keep your training going, forget about your tatoos for now, and when the time comes get your application going. You've had your AFCO say it shouldn't be a problem, take that as positive. Druadan also gave you a pretty definite answer. It's as if you're looking into ways to get binned before you even start. Forget about it and worry about your part in the application, there's nothing you can do about the tatoos now.

My mate has a full sleeve who passed out of my original troop and nothing was ever said but here are some hypothetical questions with some pretty definite answers.

Will you be allowed to join? Yes
Will you look ridiculous in summer rig on the drill square? Yes
Will the PTI's rip the living piss out of you for it? Yes
Will the training team take the piss? Yes

Will you let this affect you?
If yes: Don't join
If no: Crack on

Are you doing everybodys head in posting the same question in multiple threads? Yes

Do you have more important things to worry about? Yes

What are they I hear you say?

Fitness (It's a lifestyle choice not a chore)
Attitude (Take things on board, if not the 1st time definitely the second time!)
Worrying (Chill out for fooks sake!)

Sincerely though best of luck with the application process and PRMC, hope it all goes well.

Thats the best post yet that has been made about this. Riggsy I hope you don't ask again after reading that.

If you feel your fitness isn't ready then just don't do your PRMC yet, you can stil start the application, like the medical, phsyco tests etc etc. Then once you get passed all that you will get a date for PRMC. If your not ready for it then be honest and tell them. But if you've got a date for PRMC then maybe you will pull your socks up and get on with training.

Good post Darren.
