Right, my wife's keen to incorporate some phys into her life while she works away from me during the week - seems Leroy isn't tiring her out enough.
Anyway, she's rubbish at getting to the gym and due to the ridiculously long hours she works, it's plain impractical so I thought it'd be a good idea to invest in some type of trainer for her apartment.
Just wanted to get an idea as to which way to go; I've pretty much narrowed it down to either bike or cross-trainer and was hoping someone might have some thoughts.
Budget is around 300 if anyone could recommend any specific models/brands.

Abs wheel roller... very cheep from all sorts of places, great core exercise. A exercise mat for body weight stuff, light dumbbells, punch bag with gloves and preferably wraps etc (I know my boxing gym does a woman’s boxersize class... was training in there with the coach, one on one, whilst these women where in there tearing into the bags like a gang of young Mike Tyson’s... rather scary
)
All the above can be brought from JJB , although I wouldn't advise getting the punch bag from there.
those small steppers also take up very little room, easy to use whilst watching what ever it is you watch of an evening.

Squat rack simple as.
Free weights (hard session) leaves you burning calories for up to 48 hrs after you stop training, CV stops burning calories pretty much as soon as you stop. She won't turn into Arnie as she doesn't have the testorone levels.
To sum up; she'll drop weight quicker than a rabbit gets fcuked and you can use the squat rack as well.

The most important are big compound exercise (i.e using more than one joint); Squats, Deadlifts, Bent over rows, Bench Press, Dips, Pull ups etc. I can't emphasize the importance for strict form though.

Currently trying to lose weight (successfully lost 16lbs)and greatly improve my fitness to join the marines.
My cardio training is going well but i think i need to improve my biceps and triceps because im struggling doing press ups

Proper compound exercies will help you reach your goals, I wouldn't bother with isolates such as bicep curls. As for press ups, there's only one way to get better at them.....Yep, you guessed it, more press ups.
Well done on the weight loss. If you're not already, incorporate HIIT trg into your program.
EDIT: You've got sufficient kit to squat and deadlift, these are exercises no program should be without. Get someone to show you correct form, or youtube it. Start off with 3 sets of 8 reps on these two exercises.
