PSYCHOMETRIC

Post by bulldog9 »

I know its probably been said and asked, but i have not received anything through the post yet but i rang through and they said i have my date on 4th October.

All i ask is what i need to take etc as i have not been informed?

Also what to wear?

Any links for sites to practice, any help would be brilliant.

Thanks in advance.

Wear a suit always as it gives a good impression to your matelot/AFCO whatever.
Bring your brain and a bottle of water and a watch.
Make sure you answer as many questions as possible and do it quickly but not too quick!
If you get a hard answer which is gonna take way too long mark your best guess and keep moving as there are more easy questions than hard ones and you have limited time.
Besides that good luck and crack on!

had mine a couple of days ago.

Wear a suit and tie and some nice shoes, myself and 1 other out of 6 wore them, we were the only ones going for the marines. The navy officer seemed impressed that we put in some effort.

I apparently did very well on it, despite missing out on the last 4 questions as i ran out of time. unless your moving very very fast you wont have much time to check your answers or sit their fiddling your thumbs.

Other than that I brought my passports, birth certs, and schooling records as told to bring by the form they sent me. this is just for them to see the actual documents.

Cheers

I've got mine next Wednesday, I'm worried about it to! I don't have a suit, but will a shirt and tie be ok?

bulldog9, Thy will probably send you something soon, they send it t everyone. I got mine 2 days after the AFCO rang up. The questions aren't too bad. I found that typing Physcometric tests on Google is a waste of time. No good hits.

Just done mine today and passed so that’s a relief.

The things listed on my letter are...

- Original Birth Certificate and any Change or Name or Adoption Documents you may have (copies are not acceptable).

- Marriage Certificate (if applicable).

- Any Passport(s) and Naturalisation documents that you possess.

- Any Educational Certificates that you possess.

- If you have served in HM Forces bring your previous service documents and discharge papers with you.

- National Insurance Card.

- National Health Card. (this should be one of the newer cards that contain at least 8 digits, if you still hold a card that starts with a series of letters then a new number should be obtained from your medical centre)

- Form AFCO 102, fully completed (this should be in the pack that you will receive and is an extension of the application form)

Other than that dress smart, take a watch as suggested by paddlequack and a drink as you’re in there for a while.

Good luck,

Luke

Yeah but the better you do on your psychometric test helps when you go down to do your PRMC because you can afford to get a lower score on the bleep test. Not that you wouldnt put in 110% effort anyway

Shirt and tie is ideal mate as you should look your best for the AFCO and let him know that you're taking this seriously as he's your reference to CTC.

I would not worry about what to wear to the test mate, it is just a test, I just wore fairly smart civvie clothing. Save your suit or shirt and tie for the interview where appearance counts for something.

Ok, I won't get too hung up over it, just wondered because I've applied for a Commision so wondered if I could get marked down for it.

So how long will all the process be now until the PRMC, making sure everything goes according to plan of course?
