No, I think they cost too much or something_chris wrote: So do you not get the PT-03 that the army PTI's made issued then?

As far as trainers are concerned, in my opinion you just need a pair that are comfortable and offer good support.
Obviously if you can afford to get a pair made to fit your feet then that would be a good thing but lets face it soon enough you'll be running in crappy trainers and combat boots so if your feet can't handle a few miles without having trainers that are designed for your specific running style then you're going to struggle. But that's just my opinion so make of it what you will.
I have Asics and New Balance trainers for running, which I usually get when JJB have a sale on, for less than £30 (reduced from half price most of them) and they do the job.
I just found a pair of asics, tryed them on and got them. Apparently they are very popular in the royal marines along with the G-SHOCK watches, so if you don't have asics, your not part of the cool club
.
These PT-03, do you get them free if you go into the army? If you do I am signing up, getting the trainers and making a run for it

Asics, as has been stated, are a good brand for trainers if you get the right ones suited to your feet. The ones I recently bought over the internet hurt my feet to run in and made completing my recent half marathon a fairly painful experience. This was obviously my fault for not running in them before but whatever the brand make sure you try them on and if possible go for a little job in them just to make sure they cause no problems.
About half of this thread turned to crap, of which there was no point. Some posts are either there to get their author more posts under their name or to bicker like a child.
This is to any mod that has the time and thinks it would be a good idea. Running shoe threads come up very regularly, and if you were to search for all of them I bet the same thing is said over and over again. Is there no way to find some of the best advice from these threads, put them into a new thread and make it a sticky? This way, it will save the same question being asked every other week and will offer the best advice we've seen, rather than a thread with some very useful answers mixed in with pointless arguments and other rubbish.

In a perfect world Jammer's it would be possible to sort the wheat from the chaff as it were.
However,It's not a perfect world and to sort through every bone post would take a whole lot of time.
The point of MF&T is to let you guy's share information, experience and hopefully sensible advise on your potential careers.
I don't think a Mod should get involved unless it's a'Handbags at Dawn' situation.
Anyway,Who's better.
SBS or SAS?

Wholley.

There's no correct brand to buy IMO. Be it Saucony, Nb, Asics whatever else it's the type of the trainer that is 10x more important. I ran in a neutral running shoes without knowing I was a fairly heavy pronator thus causing ITB in my knee. Get a pair that suits your running style, body posture not for what it says in sparkly writing on the side.
