Combat hospital

Post by Fairy_Dust »

Anyone catch this program? It was on National Geographic lastnight (Monday). It was very very sad and eye opening and showing the real things that are happening to US troops and Iraqi civilians, children and even insurgents. Obviously UK troops aswell but this specific documentary just showed US troops.

If you missed it I think it is good for people from this site to see I presume it will be repeated because most shows off national geo are repeated, it shows what really happens out in Iraq and Afghanistan, people really do die,get blown up and go through some horrific things, I had a lump in my throat whilst watching it but it is an eye opener and shows what troops and doctors in baghdad really go through.

Take my hat off to anyone who is there right now, or going there or has been there, f@#k hard job.

Missed it unfortunately, but heads up for anyone interested, it's on again tomorrow (5th September, Wednesday) at 22:00. I'll be watching.

And if anyone misses that, it's on again Thursday (6th September) morning, early (01:00). Thank god for repeats :D

If it's the one that I'm thinking of, it was on channel 4 a few months ago, around April timeish I think. So it might be hanging around the internet somewhere.
As Fairy_Dust said, it's quite an eye opener and can be pretty horrific in some places.

Yea that was shocking what he did to his sister, shows what weapons can do when put in the wrong hands, it was really sad watching that, even the medical staff were upset by it.

Hope some others get the chance to see it aswell, it's all well and good for us to watch the youtbue videos out in Iraq and Afghan while the lads are shooting rockets and rifles etc but we never really see the other side of the coin when the good guys catch it up and have really bad experiences. For example on that show there is 1 soldier who goes to the hospital unharmed but not much earlier he was picking up parts of his friends who hit an IED and he was talking about picking up arms and legs from opposite sides of the road, truly horrific for anyone to have to do. :-?
