Make sure this is what you want mate before you go with it. You don't want to waste your time, or the Marines money. I advise speaking with some RM's and see if they can give you some outlook to the job. Im an older mate, 25, and let me tell you, don't let a girl hold you back. I've done that too many times. Do what YOU wanna do. It's not like your leaving the world mate, you'll still be around, and if she cares, she'll stick by your decesions.

This is a life altering career, that will more then likely change your perspective on everything so far in life. Just make sure you want to make that change. Wait a year or 2 if you want, and then come back and re-do the testing to be sure. In the end it's up to you.

Cheers !

If your not 100% behind your decision to join and put 110% into training you WILL FAIL, sorry to tell you that but its a fact. It sounds like the only reason you are wanting to stay is because of your girlfriend but like Ty said dont let anyone ever tell you you cant go or make you choose because that is not rite. You relly need to think about it first.

Tom

P.S dont write in txt language, the mods and admin do not like it and you'll put people off helping you in the future.

as harsh as it sounds mate everyone is correct about the girlfriend. I moved from new zealand and left mine of 3 years to do this and trust me that wasnt easy. But in the end of the day I knew this is something I really want to do and have to do.

The bottom line and thing you need to ask yourself mate is this:

If you dont do it do you think you'll regret it and for how long? for the rest of your life?
If you leave your gf you may regret it, but how long will it take you to get over a girl compared to a dream?

Just a few things that helped me along the way.

Cheers

I'm confused just by trying to translate your post into a vaguely-recognisable form of English.

At least give RT a go and see how you feel for the first two weeks. You may end up loving or hating it so then you can decide if you're still having trouble now.

If you hate RT you can quit thinking "Okay I gave it a go, it wasn't for me." Or it maybe "Hey, I like this and I think I'll stay."

If you don't go you'll be thinking when times get hard about what life would've been like if you had gone to RT.

Just give it your best shot and see what happens.

i was in the same situation, in the end i went ahead with the marines and we ended splitting up.

girlfriends = temporary distractions which are easily replaced.
royal marines = faithful and loyal life long partner, hoofin
