Alright lads!
Well, passed my PRMC today. Had a great time down there, also met some great lads as well. We had quite a small course only 25 of which only 15 passed.

chezza can you go into detail of things like lengh of the determination test what happened on the swimming test, questions asked in the interview and your scores for pressups etc please

The determination test lasted around 20 minutes, we were made to sprint up a hill around a cone and back again then we would have to do 5 press ups facing down hill, 5 sit ups facing up hill and 5 burpees. This would increase to 10 of each exercise after some more sprints around the 6ft wall and the monkey bars. We then had to do things like lay on our fronts and backs as quickly as possible on the PTI’s command followed by more sprints. Straight after we was made to piggy back someone about 80 meters down the hill the back up again, this was the most difficult of all.
Swim test is really basic you jump off the diving board swim around the pool confidently then climb out without using the ladders. (make sure you wear swimming trunks) only two of use did and the PTI’s was not happy with those who didn’t.
Interview was alright two of us went into the room at the same time and the corporal just asked us to fill out a questionnaire, he then showed us our scores and asked me a few questions like:
Birth of the corps?
Where are 3 commandos based?
When was the Falklands?
That was about it, he asked the other guy to describe the corps badge and that was about it for the interview.
My scores were:
3 miler
1.5 = 12.30 as a squad
1.5 = 8.54 best effort back.
Bleep test = Level 13
Press ups = 54
Sit ups = 82
Pull ups = 9
Assault course = 3.14

thanks for the reply i appreciate it my prmc is on monday did they say how strong a pass that was or just a pass the piggy back sounds hard congrats again

I spoke to AFCO yesterday and he told me that my date should be on the 22nd of October which is quite a while away but that is the next available date.
When I went for my interview with my section corporal he gave me a questionnaire to fill out, and on the sheet was all my scores which he told us we could have a look at. It had my 1.5 best effort score, gym test 1 scores and assault course time.Jarhead wrote:how did you know your times? i thought it just yes you passed run or no you failed.

your 1.5 mile best effort time very good, did you sprint then it out?
i sad in a way its 12.5 mins 1.5 miles sinse that kinda slow which in turn means last 1.5 mile going to be a real push on the pace.
i prefered the old prmc one where it all run as group for whole 3 miles and if you stick with group you do it in 21:mins and if you fall back to the second PTI you wil get 22.30 but any further back and you will fail.
at least that way your pace says constand and steady.

i think he means its a shame that the group effort is 12:30 as you then have to push for the last 1.5 to make it in the required time. But what I think he hasnt taken into account is that it gives you 10min to get back and that should be enough when you take into consideration that the PJFT is now 10min from what i hear

still i find 12.5 mins 1.5 mile quite slow and then changing pace to 10 mins going to be interesting. still allways fun to try new things in running
