Reading Material

Post by Paraintraining »

I've just started reading a book about Goose Green as i thought it looked an informative read and i'm very interested in the history of the parachute regiment too.

Any suggestions on good reads out there, based on facts not a fanciful story?

John Parker's PARAS: Inside Story Of Britains Toughest Regiment is a really good read for an oversight of the Regiments history.

I have just about finished 'Above all, courage' by Max Arthur. It’s a book of personal stories from the Falklands War. It is made up of accounts from serving members of all the forces involved in the conflict.

It is chronological order from start to finish of the campaign and is the most enthralling read I have had in a while. I thoroughly recommend it.

Nigel 'spud' Ely - For queen and country....its about his career in the paras and the SAS but the majority of the book is about when he was sent to the falklands. Very good.
