the guys who are in charge of the gulags are sodding nasty,, watched a documentary about it...
Those pictures are stupid, they are the parades and stuff that are put on for reporters alowed into the country, the only way to see what it's really like is to smuggle yourself in.

Yes, I can see you know what you are talking about

I wonder what the N. Koreans perception of the UK is, based on what they watch on their TVs

ok, i think maybe the evidence supported by the videos, the satelites and North Korean stories may come into factor,

yes, the media often ahs a tendency to bend the truth, and Cliodna you have made me into the self professed genius, i AM NOT that, just someone interested in the subject.

What are your views as you seem to sound quite knowledgable, at least i hope someone would if they questioned me like that.

Well. This is where you get told to wind your neck in.
There's an old expression "is it live or memorex?", the meaning of which indicates some people get their knowledge first hand, while others read, google or watch TV.

Sadly, here, you don't get to be snippy with members who are BTDTs (google that, you'll know what I mean).

Wow that happened quick!

1) Got sod all to do with military fitness and training.

2) People in the DPRK are fed nothing but propoganda by the state. Speaking out against the government is not allowed, spies are everywhere and there is evidence of torture, experiments etc.

The BBC last year or the year before went undercover into the DPRK to find out whether the alligations of human rights abuses were true - and they were. Anyone who spoke out had to be met in secrecy and if i remember correctly, they were constantly being stopped at random by DPRK police and spies - eventually they had to leave. I dont remember much about the program but what i do remember was that when a military official was questioned on the matter and even shown a copied letter of the use of that kind of force, including human experiments - he remained silent and said nothing.

When questioned on the matter of his view of the west etc etc, his reply was (and i do remember this) "We will get the U.S first - the U.K, the U.S, you will all see..." with a big smile on his face.

It's not something i have researched a great deal to be honest but what i do remember was pretty shocking.
