Climb the 33ft ropes, once round the assault course in under 5 mins, 200m firemans carry, and a full regain. All this is done wearing 22 lbs and a rifle, so when you do your firemans carry you carry 44 lbs, your mate and two rifles! F***ing hang out!lol
Bit of an expansion on JCAP3's question, but have you seen your fitness come far in those 21 weeks? Whenever the training team test you, does it feel like you've been given enough training to be ready for those tests?
Reason I ask is i'm poor at load carrying, i'm trying my hardest to build my core strength but not sure how much this will improve at CTC.
The training is progressive, you are getting fitter but so is everyone else, so you don't notice it! Don't expect to suddenly be amazingly fit, the main thing you will develop is not so much fitness but mental strength, you won't realise it but as you go through training they build it into you that you can't give up and your find yourself load carrying, speedmarching, firemans carrying or whatever, and your thinking this is so hard and it hurts but for some reason you look around at all your mates, and you know there feeling the same and you just keep going, you just don't stop and when you do feel like your gonna stop, one of your mates always seems to pull a bag of haribo out of his pocket!!lol, then lives good again!! And I aint even done the hard bit yet!!
Phys never gets any easier, every time you do it, it hurts and its a real hangout, climbing the ropes for the first time in the gym with just my PT kit on feels exactly the same now when Im climbing the ropes on bottom field with all the kit on.
Im only 18, the youngest guy in the troop is only just 17, started training when he was 16 and hes doing fine!! Just one, but its hard with kit on, trust me. You do do more in your build up sessions, they say that bottom field pass out should be your easiest session on bottom field, but I bet its not!!lol. Getting that green belt is a good feeling, after a couple of weeks you want the cap comforter though!!
