Trainers (opinion on these please)

Post by Illustrious »

Well, Ive been searching around for some decent trainers to run in and I would like you're opinion on the following

http://www.surplusandadventure.com/isho ... 08549.html

Yes I am fully aware they are £9.99, Im not prepared to fork out £100+ on a pair of Nike trainers which wont work anyway. Opinions are greatly appreciated, thank you :)

Thanks for the help Sandy! Also noticed you are at Catterick. Are you in Kings Div. by any chance?

Good luck with the shoes. Forget the fancy Nike types they are jjust for show and won't give you as much support as a decent pair of running shoes I have some nu-balance they are not too expensive.Whatever shoes you buy try and find out what sort of running style you are as in this article;

Any decent running or triathlon shop will do this test for free.

Illustrious,

The problem with the trainers you linked to is that they are flat footed. These sort of trainers cause shin splints when you do any running in them as it is not what they are designed for.

The best running shoe i have found (along with many other runners) are asics as they are specifically designed for running. You can probably pick up a fair for about £30. I know you said you don't want to spend loads but you have to be rational about such things; cheap crap is cheap crap for a reason when it comes to running. its a high impact sport and you shold take care of your feet accordingly. At the end of the day, its better to fork out money on proper running shoes (im not talking about £100 gimicky stuff either) than spend 10x that on specialist treatment when you get injured. Good luck with the running

Well spotted... But this is why he should find out what running style - supernator etc he has. You are right about gimicky expensive shoes they are just a con!

Find a running shop decent one will work out your running style and suggest decent trainers probably cost more than 9.99 though.
Maybe an overhill stab but not ready to hang
my kit in yet .If not quite death from the flanks
certainly a nasty fright.:)

Customers will recognise that the British Army would not purchase a product that was not high quality.
Erm, yeah, okay....
Won't be using that site again then....
