Hi people, just thought i'd introduce myself and create my first post!
I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment, I'm working as a fitness instructor currently but am getting very bored with the job. About 4 years ago I joined the marines and got to week 14 before deciding to jack it in (mainly because I wasnt really ready to commit myself and wanted to enjoy civvie street). However I do miss the challenge and I am planning to join up again... Here is the problem, many of you may laugh at this but I dont know whether to go for marines again or (no laughing!) RAF regiment....
Just wondering what everyone thinks, any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Andy

Hey Andy, I'm no expert...quite frankly i'm a fat cnut with aspirations above his station, but i'm gonna answer - hey wants the worse that could happen
Your a fit guy (stop laughing at the back) so why go for the option which cant use your full potential fitness wise? (the RAF reg for the slow ones..)
Also you mentioned you wanted a challenge : Royal is the clear winner here me thinks!!!
More specialisations in Royal - u may not decide to specialise but its there if u want it, career pathways and more prospects and qualifications.etc
Travel - i'm nt sure what exactly the RAF is like, but i'm gonna answer it anyway...the Royal is bigger with more bases, so more chance to travel - more overseas tours, exercises and the like I'm sure.
From what i've heard (ARRSE mainly) and i'm sure the RAF reg boys are a great buch of lads and you get nobbers everywhere but the word is all they do is strut around thinking they are the dogs bollocks in their military webbing and shades
...hello we live in UK...where's the sun ?!
But, as youv'e mentioned you have been in the Marines before...partly - so the whole application process inc PRMC may not be particularly exciting... and the Reg will be new and fresh...as fresh as men running around in mud can be lol.
Though I did read that the RAF regiment is getting more of a role to play - more operational responsibilty and "gigs".
In philosophy there's this thing, cant remember what is called but it says you ask someone/peoples who you subconsciously believe will tell you what you want hear...and your asking a Royal Marines forum...
Good luck with it mate

I don't really know what to say here - apart from GOOD LUCK to everyone going to PRMC or POC - remember: people here have been there and come out alive, pass or fail....its YOUR EFFORTS that count!!!
