II Squadron RAF Regiment

Post by SHOOT_ME »

I plan on hopefully joining the regiment as a gunner in about a year. I know that II squadron is a para-capable squadron and was wondering if anyone knows what the raf pre-para test comprises of? Is it the the same as p-company for the Army? Also is there a restriction on eyesight, since though my vision isnt terrible, i still need to wear glasses to see long distance.

thanks. :)

NO regt pre para is more akin to commando tests than P-Coy I would say although it has a good mix of the both in there, the long hard slog events e.g. 28km endurance march over brecon and the fan dance as well as racing snake events such as stretcher race. It's bloody hard and is an immense course to pass with a hell of a build up training beat up package attached to it.

 the test you are talking about for the raf reg comprises of carrying your handbag onto the plane with a plastic gun so you can look hard, once all you pussies have checked your make up etc and have gossiped with the stewardessessses about whats happening on the soaps you walk to the doorway and instead of walking down the steps onto the runway you do a dandy little jump, if you want to be airbourne join the paras mate keep away from the gayboy rafreg wannabe's be a man not a crossdresser  or if you really want to do something withyour life join the marines but don't ever let on that you applied for this bunch of woofs or you will be sorry

Good post 8)

But can we be a bit "objective" about this if lads are posting in the para or rafregt etc section can we try and help them towards that rather than mention how better the MARINES are...

Otherwise there could be an almighty site punch-up between all the different units and I for one, do not want to be in the middle of it

Ta!

sorry about my last draft lads there was a few clerical errors written in by mistake by my secratary(stupid cow) ' just go and get me a cup o tea you silly bitch and I'll try and sort this mess you've got me in' ah now where was I, yeh stab's,, The TA is a good choice if you like to dabble, and do a bit of weapons training and, if ever it happens, we have to defend this country from an amphibious assault the TA will be there to get us out of the s**t. There I've done it, now that other matter. T h e r af r e g is a god chooooooooyce iiiiiiii f you waaaant to defend or set up runways when there is no other choice left. A hell of alot more than you, at 41 I'd still run you into the ground and then some, do you just sit there waiting for someone like me to come along or do you actually have some constructive advice for the lads about joining your mob, training preparation or programmes you could actually give them I think not, If you want to get emotional f**k off to the states and go on jerry springer or something, if I offend you GET OVER IT, tell me something about you that makes you special. Or were you with that coy of rock apes that myself and three others took out in aldergrove in 94 I wonder!! you've bit the hook now try and get off it proud cock

Your right i sound like a yank!!!! lol
In relation to Prepara and the whole point of the thread, for a start you can apply to be within II you will be posted to, not eberyone in the sqn has there wings. first you have to pass Pre-Para which to be brutally honest i dont know much about, in relation to the corse content what i do know is that anony trying to get on pre-para has differnt PT geared more towards the corse itself. see if Raf reginald could help you on the sister site!!

Why dont I ever read something before posting it!!!!

Right what i ment to say in the previous post was that you can apply but its not likely you will get posted because everyone wants the extra money you get for having your wings. sorry for any confusion!!!
