For a while now Ive suffered with pain in my Hamstring and/or Glute on my left leg (outer and rear). I have seen a Physio and had electrical accupuncture on the muscle(s) to loosen them. The Physio tells me I likely have a row of micro-tears down the muscle which will always have the possibility to tighten up.
The symptoms I suffer are after exercise, not during. The problem is after resting after exercise my leg will "seize up" and be in a degree of pain from uncomfortable to excrutiating. The excrutiating doesnt really happen anymore however the leg does "twinge".
To cure it Ive been told Dynamic stretching (things like pendulum swings, push kicks etc) and Passive (normal hamstring and glute stretches) after exercise only when the muscle is warm should help.
I have found high-impact exercise such as MMA (I do this once a week) and running (i try to avoid this at the moment) affects more than low-impact (swimming for instance).
Is anyone in the Forces who has suffered this or does suffer this? I am currently attempting to join the Army and have completed my Medical on Paper (RG8). I am aiming for a job such as Intelligence or Signals so wont be soldiering like the infantry do, but Basic may well kill my leg and this is what worries me. Any ideas please post them or maybe PM them?
Thanks very much!
