thats alot of milk mate. i drink probs 1 pint a day and ive never had problems with my bones. well i cant fully straighten my left arm its a couple of cm off straight but thats cause i fell down 1 f@#k of a hill in the dark, backwards, with the force of someone pushing me :( but its alright im building the strength back which is going well and funny enough even though i cant straighten it its able to reach further than before the accident :D how odd!

get your bio mechanics measured at a runnuning shop so your wearing the correct trainers.the best way to train is heart rate training then your training to your bodies limits rather than trashing yourself every day and the body never recovering. keep a diary for your running times and you will notice the improvement in no time. Good Luck

I couldnt find anywhere to get my biomechanics checked and got advised by a friend who is a runner to spend a bit dosh 70 - 100 quid on a pair of Asics, I dont want to advertise for anyone, but they done the job for me.

Put ice on your shins after you run mate and that should take down any swelling from shinsplints and help them heal quicker.

I posted on here not that long ago that I couldnt run, but now I can. Im no Seb Coe, but a lot better than I was. I didnt do anything fancy, just started cycling, then done a bit running, found myself a boxing gym and trained there and then done some more running. Ive got a bit still to go, but should be hitting my target in about 2 -3 weeks, so if I can do it, anybody can

Aright lads,

Been out running and riding most days, I've been trying to pushmyself and I think its doing me good.

I ran a mile the other day and it definetly helps when you have a target because you know you can stop when you get here. :o

I didn't run all the way becasue I can't, I think I would just collapse haha, but I managed to do it in about 11-12 minutes with walking on and off, so if I took out the walking I would of done it in about 9 minutes probably.

Right shin feels a bit spazzy today, I jsut noticed my shin twinge when I sort of squatted down to stroke my dog, i've got the doctors this morning so i'll have a word. Nothing too bad to stop me running, i'll just ice it and crack on tommorrow. No swelling or nothing though.

Also got my first day at the recruitment center on Thursday 3.00pm quite nervous even though it's nothing formal, atleast it will get the ball rolling.

Cheers
Never say never!!!!

Yeah good luck to you mate, and gald to hear about the running. The more you crack on with it the easier and quicker you will become. Ive improved 6 minutes on my 4 miler  Im really happy about that now, you just have to grit your teeth and carry on.

Instead of slowing down to stop for a breather, just slow down abit so you are regaining your strenth during a slow jog. I find this really helps. After two weeks i GUARANTEE (spelling :-? ) that you will see a differance. Just remember to keep a steady pace. Im no expert on running at all, and im pretty sure alot of the guys can give you some really decent advice, but this worked for me :D
