Poof.

Sorry, someone had to.... :o
I know i'm ashamed. But i do a lot of volunteer work and part of that enables me to have as much wine as i can handle free. Who could resist?

Sonne
Hey, if it's free who can knock it?

nope fraid that 4 o'clockers doesnt happen anymore, sounds hoofin. But the nods are welcome (as in pushed) to go to the 9 o'clockers, which is like cereal, tank traps, butties and pretty much anything leftover from scran.
Or did you have that aswell?Cause i understand its only Royal that make their recruits have 4 square meals a day
Shame about the 4 O'clockers Tugg.

Heaven for me when I was a 17 year old Nod was a Dutchy Burger with bacon, egg, cheese and Baked beans all in the same bun. Dribbling sat here thinking about them.

Dutchys was the one place in CTCRM where rank or time served counted for nought. As a Nod you would see these Gods being human and having a laugh. And then later when I was a God  meself I always made a point of being friendly with the Nods as in telling them a few funny stories about my training or tales about what life was like in the units. Some of the poor buggers looked at me in amazement as I was being Human to them! :D

Sonne - Don't mean to be rude but you say you do plenty of exercise, rarely eat junk food, don't eat sweets or chocolate, don't drink beer, don't fry your food, and generally eat white rice...

How exactly did you become a 'fat knacker' in the first place?

Aside from eating your 5 fruit/veg or going wholegrain as AdamMc mentioned already you seem to be already doing what most dieticians would recommend as the basic steps in changing your diet to lose weight.

Years of laziness / junk food between the ages of about 12 and 16. Put it on but never seemed to be able to shift it. I'm a short stocky powerhouse so things like the firemans carry i've never had problems with.

Been putting some of the advice into practice nad i've lost a few lbs

Just remembered a tip I picked up a while ago. Instead of sitting on the sofa to watch TV, plonk yourself on the floor. You will move every so often as one postion becomes uncomfortable after a while. You use plently of calories doing this, without realising.

Also, if you make a pasta or curry dish for dinner - Shove in some whole spinach leaves in at the end, they take a few minutes to cook. Don't be shy with them because they wilt down. The outside of spinach is fiborous so it is difficult to digest and will help drag out all the unwanted stuff in your guts. Like all the left over white rice.

Apparently you burn up to an extra 600 calories a day by sitting on the floor instead of the sofa...Although you could burn that and more with a leisurly jog or game of football, so horses for courses I suppose. :-?

That can only apply to someone who watches lots of TV. If you only say watch half an hour in the evening then you're not gonna burn 600 calories just by sitting on the floor.

I wonder how many calories one burns whilst "chucking one over the thumb"...?

So I suppose then the key words would be up to 600 calories a day?

you have to remember that despite your best efforts beforehand, once you get to lympstone the diet youll be getting is hardly cutting edge, its all calories, fron any source cheap enough for the budgets that have been laid down, not to mention the rations you get in the field!!. despite this the amount of running around done ensures that you wont gain fat. there might be baked potatoes and sald etc but when knackered you will want CHIPS!

You make a great point SImmo. As it stands i've been losing a few lbs a week. I've been gaining muscle as well which weighs more than fat so i suppose that accounts for the discrepency between my apparent weight loss yet little sign of change on the scales.
