Medical question
I've just passed my interview for recruit selection, so now its time for the medical.
On the back of the brown medical questionnaire envelope it asks if i aurthorise and request a copy to be sent to my GP. If i say no will it be frowned upon resulting in them wanting to research my civillian records therefore delaying my application. However if i say yes will the process of sending a copy delay my application aswell.
I want to get me PRMC date as soon as possible because i'm very keen and so want to minimise any possible delays.

If you have anything in your records like depression etc, I think it would be worth asking to see the report before it's sent. The MoD will ask your GP for details of any major possible problems (such as depression), and this is your only chance to check what is written. If (for example) your depression ended 5 years ago, but due to a cock up it's in your records it's 5 months, then you will be barred from entry to the RM, and sorting it all out could take ages.
If on the other hand you have no major diseases or injuries, then don't worry about it.

I think I had the worst depresison ever last year. I never went to see the doc about it, just the dodgy throat which turned out to be major stress. I'm not sure but the medical seemed like no probs to me, eventhough I applied like 1 month after my prob finished(which lasted for 6 months).
THinking about leaving already!

I have tinitus. Becasue i've lived wit hit for so many years and my hearing standard is very good i had forgotten to analyse whether it would be an issue or not. Can anyone clear this up for me?

sonne i have it too, its worse in my right ear than the left, it doesnt cause me any problems on a daily basis but be warned on the medical the sound they use to test your ears can sound a lot like the tinitus sound, so u have to be VERY alert as its hard to distinguish.
i just about passed.
to me it seems a stupid way of testing your hearing, like you my general hearing standard is good (better than some people i know without tinitus) fortunately tinitus isnt a reason to be failed in itself.

Ginko Biloba is good for memory, i cant see how it'll affect my hearing. I wont go into the science of tinitus. Even so i'll give it a try as it's relatively cheap. Thanks for the advice.

i stand corrected!
I'll definately take that under advisement. Thanks for the tip.
Guess what? Another psuedo-medical question.
This one anyone can answer. I snore like a b*stard and have contemplated corrective surgery. My question is whether you think it's worth it? For the benefit of my fellow recruits of course... Plus i've had concerns about sleeping in the field once operational, me snoring away is bound to give away...
