AFC medical?

When trying to join the AFC is there some kind of medical examination. If there is are the requirements the same as if one was trying to join the army straight up. My main concern is to do with how asthma (effectively non-existent, no inhaler in my case) is looked upon in the medical.

You need to be four years clear of being prescribed any medication or displaying symptoms.

I had asthmatic symptoms and medication (okay, it was due to a cat allergy..) and initially I failed the medical, but I wrote a letter to the medical officer explaining its never stopped me running etc and they let me in!
