I am a VICTIM

Post by sittingstress »

Today I learnt of a cynical action taken against me that had been instigated purely because I am a Rock. After fuming for a while and trying to get my fingers round the stinking 'guins neck I calmed and mananged a smile.

See what you think;

Owing to the job I am in I am entitled to the higher rate of clothing allowance. I have been successfully claiming this for the best part of 4 years. At the beginning of this year (after my return from personally winning the war in Basra!) I assembled the appropriate authorised application and letter of authorisation from PMA and sent it off to PSF. At this point I promptly forgot about it. Last week it dawned on me that the money hadn't materialised in my account so I gave PSF a ring. They were very helpful and informed me that my application had been rejected at PMA. They had considered this to be a mistake so had re-submitted it on my behalf. Top skills I think. However, the application had again been refused by PMA.

A phone call was made by my PSF clerk to the necessary person who supplied the following reason for taking the decision to refuse my AUTHORISED, EXTANT, ENTITLEMENT to the allowance;

"Yeah I binned it 'cos he is a Gunner"

So this filthy 'guin in PMA who has a thing for Rocks just cos we gas them has had the (almost) final laugh!

You can imagine I hit the roof and all the mellowed out feelings towards RAF colleagues went for a ball of chalk. I was once again that young SAC Gunner with a hatred of all things blue. I was stomping about the place issuing all kinds of hatred on 'guins in general. To top it all a RAFP who works with me and is a good ole boy for a scuffer (Q-P-D too!) wound me up successfully so I went into copper hating mode too!!

After calming down I realised that it had taken approximately 16 years but some 'guin had gotten his own back on a rock, cue the wry smiles. However, in finest rock tradition I have launched the network and my sources will be reporting back in the fullness of time-I WILL win!!

Regards

ss

PS I await the 'guins sh*t on rocks comments with eagerness

I cannot do that as it would break the 56th commandment of my real religion; "Oi you better not ever deny being a Jedi".

PS I need a laugh so please can we set the poor peoples (non subs) fora alight with razor wit and banter?

Ring up this f@#k, threaten to drive down to wherever he is and break his chubby face. Or you could just buy some new cloths from army surplus store. Ha Ha!

PS Well done in Basra for the fight against freedom.

Yeah let's take sides without asking the pertinent question.

What exactly is the job you do that requires a clothing allowance?

Who is your QPD buddy? (not pertinent, but curious)

RAF Regt wining the war in Basra? You missed the words 'Inside the airbase in Basra' out.

A few ideas spring to mind.

How do you know he said that it had been binned because you are in the less desirable part of Trade Gp 8? :wink:

Why dont you find out who this muppets 'line manager' is and resubmit it, ensuring that it goes 'personal for' the SNCO in question. You might like to include a note to explain why you are doing it that way.

Get the rejected paperwork back from PMA.

Get written confirmation from OC PSF at your parent Unit that you are entitled, and then see P1 to see if you can get admin action taken against him for neglect of duty or something similiar.

If they refuse to send the paperwork back, you might casually mention that you can get access to it through the Data Protection Act or FOI, so they might as well give it up now. The mention of a PQ can also concentrate the mind!

Take a drive down to PMA and 'have a word' in person!

I appreciate all the answers that have so far been posted. I hasten to add that the events are all real and as stated. Many thanks for the pertinent advice given also. Owing to artistic licence (hopefully making more of you chortle) I have omitted much of the boring blah that accompanies it, so in no particular order;

PSF clerk dealing with it is a top lady who without prompting re-submitted said claim and has worked buns off chasing the gibbon who made the comment.

Said gibbon has been located however as he/she works within the pay empire I am not allowed to ring directly. SAC was embarressed to say she knows the ext number but is not able to give it to me. Frustrating I know but I would not be such a goober as to insist, thus putting her in a difficult situation.

Authorisation letter was attached to application, this was not the stumbling block. The event occurred at the "manual input" phase.

I am not the sort of person to go at it like a bull in a china shop.

Regards

ss

PS When dealing with gibbons of this order I have discovered the Stn GDT old boys network functions particularly well. More gas Bloggs? Of course, here let me!!

PPS aes69 you assume that I was working with the Regt or FPW during my time in Basra. I visited BAS approximately half a dozen times
during the 6 months I was out there. Oh and the job that requires a clothing allowance PM me and I'll tell you.

PPPS Sticky I am provisionally booking a bus for a day trip to the Innsworth area you are more than welcome. You will need to bring your own lunch but baseball bats and boxing gloves are complimentary!!

If you're entitled to it, surely a quick word/email/call to the Chief Clerk or unit PSF chaps would have been a better use of your energies than searching for revenge....?

Wow, I thought this thread had died a death ages ago and then 2 events in a couple of days!

1. Allowance was paid into account this week after "directed" comments were made on my behalf by the PSF here.

2. Slider, the original post did have an element of tongue in cheek and you will see that the advice you tendered was in fact carried out as my first action.

Regards

ss

PS And why not revenge?
