Royal Engineers Training
Hi All,
I was just wondering if any of you could give me some first hand info on Royal Engineers training after basic . Ive put off joining up for too long now and am finally going to AFCO on saturday (heres hoping the app goes smoothly). I have been on the various websites and tried the search but theres no real info from service/ex service men (appologies if there is and I havnt found it).
Never been so excited about doing anything in my life and althou have heard you go through 12 weeks of hell the rewards are there for all to see at the end.
Bit concerend about medical as there seems to be alot of people who fail for things that they didnt know they had prior to the RSC or start of basic.

Cheers mate appriciate that. 59 is something that excited me when first read about it and would like to follow it further....need to walk properly first before I start running.
I had a hernia when I was first born, this was fixed there and then, and have no pain or niggles there now, is there a chance that this could hinder my application?
Any feedback would be appriciated

I'm not a doctor but if you had it as a kid and they sorted it out then, then you should be fine.
You should get a medical questionaire that you and your GP fill out right near the beginning of the application process. They would of seen that this happend when your a kid so if you got through that part you should be fine.
You have a hernia test at the RSC anyway with the infamous stomach prod and drop and cough.
Keep us updated on your application, if it goes smooth and quick we might be on the same intake.
