Minimum Term of Service

Post by Jascar »

I'm interested in the RAF Regiment and was wondering about the minimum term of service. The website says 9 years with the option to extend it after 4 years. Is it possible to leave the RAF after 4 years, or do you have to stay on for 9 years?

Minimum airman engagement is 9 years + 6 in the Reserve.
So just to make sure I have this right, I can leave the RAF Regiment 3 years after I finished training if I wanted? (not saying that I will, just checking my options)

Any idea what's involved with a PVR? i.e. what are the negative aspects of it?

Just wandering, i've heard if you only want to do the 3 years then you put your papers in after 18 months. Is that true? I dont think anyone has explained it well to me, its kept on the quiet to keep you in i bet!

Without any pension ???

Are you sure or is this something that has changed since 1995?
