Assault Course
Hey all,
So, im hoping to get some info about the RM Assault Course, I live really close to a NZ Army training base which has an assault course, and im just curious if it would be worth my while training on that.
but pretty much, what kinda obsticles are there, I did a search, but to no avail.
Cheers.

Yes. the wall is at a slight angle, it has a rope net across the face of it for your feet and a a rope to the top for your hands.dalo wrote:Is there a rope or anything to get you over the big 12 footer, cause I have seen a 12 foot wall on another assault course and there huge.

One of the hardest things on the assualt course is getting your technique right for the chasm when mounting the rope. If you fall of and have to start again it eats your time. The same goes for the monkey bars, all I can say is when it's wet just move as fast as poss with a white-knuckle grip to avoid slipping off- it's not good trying to do the course soaked through either.

Theres not much you can do to prepare for the assault course other than a wide range of circuit training to use alot of various muscles.
I fell in the water jump (first obstacle) on a practice run and got soaked, also don't upset the cpl's when your down there because you'll be finding nimo if you do
