Basic Training.........

Post by Gryllzy »

Hi, I have a friend who is dur to start basic training on March 21st which is five days after i leave for the RAF.

I was just wondering if anyone has a break down of what her training will be day to day?

I'd appreciate it if you could please help as she doesn't have access to a computer and is hoping I can help.

Thanx,
Sarah xx

What type of unit is your friend going to join, and being a lass it could well be very different to any thing I might know about.

I'm not sure of the name of the actual trade, but it's an admin job.
It was just a break down of thr basic 12wk training that she was after.

Thanx anyway,

I can tell you how it is for me, so should be of some help!!

0500 revelle - Wash, shave etc then go for scoff. Get back 0630 to do swabbing (cleaning)
0730 Room and Locker Inspection - Stand by our beds and get inspected
0800 First Lesson
1030 Second Lesson
1230 Scoff
1330 Third Lesson
1530 Fourth Lesson
1730 Scoff and do Admin for tomorrow.

In the time she will go on 3 Intro Exercises and one Tac Ex. Lessons will be on NBC, Health & Hygiene, Rifle Lessons, Physical Training, Map Reading etc

First 6 weeks are shit, after you pass off the square you get weekends off, they leave you at night to get on with Admin etc, you wake yourself up and go down to scoff.

Hope this helps a little.

Well i have seen a few women in my time with beards you would envy, most lads here just have to stick their head out of the window and the wind will do the rest.

But have not seen your friend so can't comment, but if she has no beard here is my number :o

"Did you have a shave today?

Yes Sergeant!!

Try using a blade next time, might help you mutant!!

Yes Sergeant!!"

I have a nice bit of bristle on the go, caught imptaigo off some mutant, its right under my chin!! So i have excused duties untill Friday from shaving.
I wouldn't mind but its a pain the in backside because i have to be squared away with personal hygiene so i don't spread the infection further and to other recruits, if only the person i got it off had done that!!
The bad thing is tomorrow is the last shoot with foresight's before we move onto SUSAT's, i cannot do it because i am also unable to wear a helmet, charming.

Bloody hell, week 9 on Monday..............times goes fast!!!
