Green Bible

Post by ever__hopeful »

OK, please be nice to me, I'm still new on this site!!!

In loads of the post people are talking about the Green Bible.
Can anyone tell me what it is, and if it's useful. Also where could I get one?

Thanks,

Its the book your AFCO give/send you that covers the PRMC, training, History of the RM and other stuff. You can get one from your AFCO or go on the royal marines site and apply for more information through the post.

Ah that green book that you get from the AFCO, its a load of crap, on our PRMC when we got the "talk to the diamonds" part, they told us that everything about that book is crap in the "training part" yeh it gives you a very rough idea, but they said the only thing it was good for was remembering the exercise names, the book is too old thats why. It was confirmed by the Training lecture, as everything you do in certain modules are different to the book. :-?

Yeah obviously when it was printed it was 100% correct, now though its more 'roughly' correct. The corps history and specialisations are still correct and worth learning though.

First off I'm a Canadian who is joining the royals and I have been curious about this so called book as well. I have already applied for and got the "information" pack which consisted of more or less nothing. It was almost pure Navy with hardly anything at all on the marines.

I got a letter saying that my information was being handed over to the overseas application department and they would be in contact with me. Will it be through them that I get this "green bible" with the marine information.

Thank for any help, much appreciated.

Brad.
