PRMC APRIL 12th
Ive got my PRMC coming up on the 12th April. I went to a Royal Marines aquaint on 14th Feb, I got 10.3 on the bleep test and done 39 press ups and 42 sit ups. I can easily improve these but we done a Three mile run, half together and own pace back, I done it in 11.19, i think this is terrible i have eight weeks to improve for PRMC, anyone got any tips for incresing my overall running stamina or any running schedules that coould prove usefull?

Mate i wouldnt worry about the 3 miler, they are not looking to see who comes first in the run back, what they do is your run in a squad for a mile and half, then he stops you and says ok off you go, and you all run back, he runs back aswell and he lets you know that as long as you stay infront of him you will pass. Its a Pass/Fail event. if you make it back within 22.5 mins you will get looked at just the same as the people who came in first. I came last, well near on and i still passed. Just bear that in mind, all you have to do is stay infront of the corporal.
I would however say practise sprints, like a bleep test, two points just jog to one point then sprint as fast as you can back. Do this lots, when you come to Gym Test 2, you'll thank yourself for doing it! Plus sprinting will help your V02 score and help your VC and running in general.
As for the press ups, just make sure you are doing them correctly, elbows pointing towards your toes and stay in by your side, and sit ups keep your knees together and fingers touching the side of your head, when you go up, elbows touch the TOP of your knees, when you go down both shoulders and arms must touch the ground.
But yeh, just keep doing press-ups, sits-ups, running, sprinting, and make sure you do some pull-ups, do this either on a bar if you got one or find a tree branch or a football goal, make sure they are over-armed and pull up til your chin goes over the bar, and down to the full extent. You will need to do a max or 6 and if you do it they will make you do one for the queen.
Good luck anyway, and let us know how you get on when you've completed it!

The 3 miler has no hills at all, its basically all flat. Slight raise in the ground but its absolutely nothing! and of course you cant walk, but the PTI doesnt sprint off and say beat me back, he runs it back so that he comes in within exactly 22.5 minutes, if your infront of him you know your gonna pass! its actually not that fast pace either.

When i done my PRMC i was surprised at the 3 mile run actully, Considering how much running people do in preparation for the PRMC its actully one of the best parts of the course, Steady pace all the way through and as long as your not hanging out your arse by half way, You can use your determination to get through the remaining 10 mins. Sprints are the way to go for PRMC, sprint as hard as u can, do some pressups, sprint again, more pressups, then situps, pullups... sprint another 20 times etc etc. You get the idea.
One thing tho, after the 3 miler, they kill you with those press-ups.
10 - 1 holding after every set, the guy next to me got to his last one and couldnt push up anymore, i was like wispering to him trying to give him determination, but he really couldnt push up, he was in the down position for ages then just fell, the corporal grabbed him and gave him a bollocking lol!
So what ever you do make sure you put every last bit of effort in!
