Do more press Ups!!

There are many ways of incorporating them into your training,

do three sets of press ups till failure each time before your sesh, and then again after. Hardwork, but it wont take long before you notice you can do more and more each time. Also, do different types of press ups, it will stimulate your muscles to grow by varying your training, and it will help avoid things getting boring!

Certain weights / machines will work the same muscles aswell in the gym, for example, bench press - and also vary the distance your hands are apart, the closer together they are, the more your triceps will take the strain, further apart your chest. The same goes for press ups.

I found pyramids help you get used to the lactate build up.

do 8 then rest in press up position for 3 seconds, do 7 etc.

Try and get up to 10 (55 press ups in total)

I do as many push-ups as I can once a day, 5 days a week and then up the reps by 5 at the end of every month and it works for me so it may work for you.

I've started doing this as soon as I wake.

1 x Max marine style pressups
1 x Max regular pressups
1 X Max pressup variation (either close-arm, wide arm, legs raised or clap, changing each day)

I thought this would be a good idea when I did a set of regular pressups the other day and I could only do a pathetic number. It can't be a good thing.

I save the situps till after my run and pullups till later on using the armstrong pullup program(http://www.4mcd.usmc.mil/AOP/OSOHyattsv ... rogram.htm). I'll let you know how the scores come along.

MCD

Don't forget to get the timing just right!
Or it will be a waste of exercise!
