Hi,

I work for royalmail and have been there for over a year. I work in logistics, in the office and warehouse. Quite happy there until i get the call from the AFCO.

Have you considered any other careers in the RAF/other forces?

Hi

My choices in the RAF were Aircraft technician (avionics) and Aircraft technician (mechanical).

I was looking at electrical technician but was more interested avionics.

If we get into avionics we will be called 'fairys'. - thats what my mate says.

only about 3-4 months and we shall start hearing stuff.

First you go and apply for getting into the RAF; this is speaking to one of the corporals etc. From this they will give you some information to take away with you and forms to fill out; also they will take your details so they can book you into an amplitude test.

You will then receive a letter, giving the details of the time and date of the amplitude test.

On the day of your amplitude test, they will check that you have completed your application form successfully and photocopy your identification and any qualification certificates.

The amplitude test will take about and hour and a half, consists of math’s, English, memory etc . Once you have taken the test they will mark it whilst you watch a video. Once the video has finished you will, one by one, go and discuss your marks, and from this, see if you can do your chosen trade, if not they will discuss other trades you can do dependant on your scores.

This is where I have got to, I am waiting for the medical and main interview for my chosen trade. My chosen trade is avionics; I am waiting for it to re-open.

Hope this is of some help....
