Next RMR London intake

Post by seamaster »

I have just spoken to somebody from RMR London, and the next Selection Weekend will be the first weekend of October.

Portsmouth will be running a holding troop from the first Tuesday of September.

Is anybody else here thinking of joining London or it's detatchments?

I'm thinking about joining the Henley branch of RMR London. I've just moved down South and am awaiting my new Liason Officer. I live in Oxford? Whereabouts are you located?
So what are the civilian applications?

I am moving to London when I return from my extended holiday..end of July I think. Either Reading or City of.

I hope to join the RMR but have been confused by some of the telephone info I have recieved re joining. A civil servant gave me some dodgy info.

Consequently I have written a letter to RMR London, basically saying I want to join etc. and asking the best way to do things because of my tight timescale.

How fit are you both? I did a half marathon 4 weeks ago but it knackered my shins because I am heavy. 1.45 mins which is ok.

Maybe see you there.

1.15 for a half marathon, is just under 12 km/h, which is around the speed I run at over such distances. I'm quite light though, would like more weight. I cycle far too much (90+ miles) a week, and don't swim as much as I'd like, and am competant with the old pull ups sit ups and what not. Do lots of Kayaking too. I'm no Olympiad nor muscle man yet, but I've got more determination than you can shake a stick at ;)

Have been trying to get more info myself, have recently contacted Henley det directly and am waiting for a response.

Hope to see you both there :)

Longshanks, I don't know what sort of half marathons you run, but if you're running at 12km/h in a 'normal' one you'll be hitting more like 1hr 45. Last time I did one I managed 1hr 35, but that was a couple of years back, and I don't want to do another one anytime soon!
