i was fifteen when i joined the army as a junior soldier in the grenadier guards

but i guess the big question is should you join or not,i feel myself if you are having to ask then maybe it is not for you,as if you was that keen you would just be going for it full stop,

myself i feel that yes you are bored and perhaps that desk is not so good at the minute but

everyone on leaving school will have a long time ahead of them working all careers will get boring at some stage but some will stick to it some won`t

you must ask yourself serious questions as to if you do join up what is it you aim to get out of it

do you want to just be a foot soldier or what

the choice is yours what ever you decide but if you do join how long will you join up for and are you going to be the best

boredom can pass in five minutes, signing up for three five years or longer can take three five years or longer to pass

I joined the RAF after leaving 6th Form and spent my 19th birthday at Swinderby preparing for CO's inspection :D

We had a lad on my intake who was in his late 20's and he was very much the 'old man' of the group. Most of us were between 18 and 22. The older lads tended to get singled out as room leaders / senior man when we first started training before the DI's worked out who was a good stick & who was an idiot.

One good thing about being over 18 was being able to drink in the NAAFI :drinking:
