Artificer interview Q's

Post by bennett_42 »

Hi i am 20 years of age and have just applied to be a weapon artificer. I have just passed the general entrance test and then went on to pass the tiff test. I have my formal interview in 2 weeks time and i was wandering if u can help me with some questions i have.

1) What kind of questions will i be asked at the interview?
2) I am told that if i can not do my 1.5 miles in 12 mins i will fail the interview, i understand and accept this but how long will it be till they tell me to come back? i have heard they can say come back in a year or so!! i am working real hard on my fitness currently and hope it wont take me too long.
3) i really am tryin to find out how hard the tests are that u have to sit at raliegh? i know they are different for tiffs and would appreciate any help.
thanks in advance

I applied to be an air tiff untill I changed my application to Royal marines. In my interview it was pretty much standard stuff, a bit about yourself and why you want to join, a bit about family etc. The only questions specific to the trade where things like name the different aircraft, where you will go for the different phases of training, he asked how do aircraft work to which i gave a very rough awnser but he seemed happy with it.

I say learn the names of the weapons systems, some of the different types of boat (the more well known ones like carriers, frigates, etc), the naval bases and where you will go for training and for how long.

This should all be in the various information they gave you, if not it should be on the RN site.

I havent done the run so i'm not sure about that.
Only 3% of applicants to the Royal Marines earn the right to wear the green beret.
