Apptitude tests
Hi Alex,
I have been through the apptitude tests before and the only thing you can do to help yourself is to practice time / distance / speed calcs, over and over. I know this may not be much help to you right now but it really is the only way. AFCO usually give you some examples so keep on practicing them.

Keep trying & don't fall at the first hurdle !

Well what a load of bollocks. Did the test and didnt get enough points for WSO airloadmaster, but enough for weapons technician. However there are no vacancies at the moment, so Im told to call up every 2 weeks. "Is there a waiting list I can go on?" Er no just call up. Well im dishearted to say the least.
To be honest the test isnt that hard apart from the memory section. However the time to answer the questions was just stupid! 4 minutes to answer 20 maths questions. The questions were not hard, however there wasnt enough time to work them out.
So ill call up every 2 weeks, but the way things are going I bet there wont be any spaces for least 8 months, if it comes to thew 5th month and still no luck ill resit the test. There was a guy there who was resitting the test, I seemed to get the idea the resit paper is exactly the same, can someone confirm that?
Im sorry but i didnt get to do an honours degree at uni by chance.

That's kinda the point DT, they want to see how many you can do in the time; obviously the better you are at maths, the more questions you can answer! And that is 12 seconds per question, which is actually quite long...day tripper wrote: However the time to answer the questions was just stupid! 4 minutes to answer 20 maths questions. You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

Im sorry but I have to disagree with you there, 12 seconds is not enough for the later questions.
Nevermind, Ill keep training physically and give a the afco a call in a few weeks to get an idea of which areas of the RAF are being cut, ahem i mean modernisation.
