The average age of the one i went on was about 18/19...

I was one of the oldest @ 21...

Mostly did the same things that James has said, but we didnt have a game of footy and we did some contact drills with paintball guns..

That was top ;)

On the down side I had flu and my BFT was torrid, about 12 mins of something

Just went on it this weekend. 6 people dropped out. Main events were BFT, Assault Course and Log Race. Just train a little before you go.. Make sure you stay on the log aswell otherwise they make you look like a fool.

Again? Theres not much point as I dont wish to be a paratrooper at this point in time.

To be honest im quite worried about the next time i descend from a rope, i may skin both hands! Im certain the reason why i slipped was because my weight was too much for me to keep hold of the rope moving hand under hand. However the guy said it was because i didnt squeeze the rope together with my BOTH my feet.

ps I also didnt like the decor of the base, it seems very 1950's :-?
Have you ever watched black adder goes forth (WW1)? At the beginning when the credits are rolling and its in black n white, and shows the soliders standing to attention-that is colchester baracks.

No such thing as Colchester barracks, I think you'll find it's Colchester Garrison, but you're right - all of the barracks are gipping. Roll on the rebuild which is due to finish in ooooohhhh...............5 years after I'm pensioned out :D

My dads got a picture of all the people that did the marching at the beginning for blackadder goes fourth (he is right at the back with Rowan atkinson etc at the front) apparantly he said that the general guy (that everyone was meant to salute to at the beginning) was at first going to be on a horse but in the end he didn't.
It's better to be tried in court by 12 men than to be carried in a box by 6.
