New army test

Post by reflective »

Some of you may be aware that there is a new test being introduced as part of the british army application process.
This is a literacy and numeracy test taken on a computer.
The test is similar to that of BARB, however there is no time limit and the test does take longer to complete.
It is unique in the sense that each applicant may face different questions because the computer monitors your results as you progress through the test, subsequently the better you are doing the more difficult your questions should become, this way the programme gives a good overall reading of your performance.
The literacy test involves: completing sentences, punctuation, spelling, word organisation etc.
The numeracy test involves: the obvious multiplication, adding, subtracting and dividing questions aswell as some q's involving graphs and charts etc.
The difficulty of the test is not too bad, however some of the questions are quite long and need to be read carefully to avoid easy mistakes.
Most questions are multiple choice, however there are some that require you to complete the answer yourself using the keyboard.
A lot of people may already know all this but I am finding a lot of people know nothing about it so this is for you.
This test is to be taken prior to RSC
Cheers.

Ich hatt' einen Kameraden,
Einen bessern findst du nicht.
Die Trommel schlug zum Streite,
Er ging an meiner Seite
Im gleichen Schritt und Tritt.
Im gleichen Schritt und Tritt

I don't know jj.
I recieved a phone call from AFCO 3 day's ago telling me I need to take the test today because I have RSC next Monday.
I asked about the test and they said it is only just being introduced and will be part of the application process, Don't worry though mate it's not too hard and it is going to take a bit of time for it to be fully introduced as part of application nationwide.
Cheers.

I saw it when I was last with the Staffords, they were trialling it in a paper version. The questions are the exact equivilent of the "SATS" tests taken by kids at ages 4,11 and 13, with the level actually being either the 11 yo or the 13 yo one. Either way, as reflective said, they really arn't that hard.
Staffords all the way :D
