PRMC questions
Hey Tabber well done mate. I was on the same PRMC as you but I was one of the failures that didn't complete it.
No excuses I just wasn't fit enough !
My scores were
vo2 = 12.2
press up = 50
sit up = 66
pull up = 3 (3 taken off for not getting high enough)
assault course = 3.50
I had to stop on the 3 miler just after half way due to having nothing left and being doubled over wit hstomach cramps. No excuses though i am going to get myself fitter and try again when im ready.

Unlucky Benno, I'm sure you'll pass next time.benno wrote:Hey Tabber well done mate. I was on the same PRMC as you but I was one of the failures that didn't complete it.

Did they tell you how long to wait before trying again?
Must admit I was surprised at the number who failed on this compared to the other bits...I think more failed here than on Bottom Field on mine!! The previous day definitely takes it's toll, but the pace isn't ridiculously quick...the first half as a squad is done at a moderate pace, the first half mile or so is a pain in the arse as the Cpls are yelling at you to speed up, slow down and get in rank, etc, but after that you can get into a rhythm. The second half, just go for it balls out; I would recommend being able to do 3 miles in sub-19.5 mins when fresh though, I can do it in around 18 mins and I don't think I was more than two minutes ahead of the Cpl (ie. around 20.5 mins on PRMC - that's a lot slower than when fresh!!).
I was thinking beforehand I should be aiming for around 19 minutes, and you've just confirmed that for me!arameis wrote:Must admit I was surprised at the number who failed on this compared to the other bits...I think more failed here than on Bottom Field on mine!! I'm stuck on 22 minutes at the moment, but I'm not looking to do my c@#t September so hopefully my time will come down soon enough.
Thanks for the tip mate
I can do the 3 miler in 19 minutes 30 seconds when im fresh but the bottom field warm up from the previous day had just taken to much out of me and covered my feet in blisters. I'd strongly recommend wrapping a couple of plasters around your toes and ankles before bottom field if your not used to wearing boots !

Slightly off topic, but, blisters are caused by friction. Plasters will rub off and create a ball of rubbish which will create worse blisters.
Think laterally, reduce the friction. Rub generous amounts of vaseline into the trouble spots and the lining of the boots at the heel etc. Make sure your socks are clean and have been washed with 'comfort'.
Small things, big difference.

You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Thin inner socks to absorb sweat, thick proper walking socks to pad foot...this way any rubbing should occur between the two socks rather than between the sock and your foot. If you haven't got any walking socks, go and buy some NOW!! They're not expensive, and will save you a lot of hassle.
Also, if you're not used to wearing boots, rub meths over your feet twice a day and allow to dry to harden the outer skin. They actually recommend this if you pass your PRMC before you start training.

benno, your scores seem better than average and would of thought they would of got you a pass should you have finished the three miler.
with 12.2 on the bleep test three miles should be a comfortable distance...
each to there own i geuss
all the best next time round!
cheers, davo
