PRMC interview

Just wondering how intense this interview actually is. Is it similar to the previouse interview i've attended at my local AFCO or what ?
I've been swating up on the normal stuff - history, training, the badge etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah thats basically it. They also ask about weapons, but they teach you some stuff about them on the second day if i remember correctly. Another thing to learn and research are the VC winners, but other than that. I found this interview to be alot more intense and worse than the one at my AFCO maybe because i think it was because i am being marked on my answers given.

Think it depends on which Cpl you get and how you've done on the rest of the course. My interview was fairly straightforward, just asked a few questions about training, then a few fairly easy ones about the history...didn't ask about VCs or dates really, just Corps birthday, the original name of the Corps, and a few other bits and pieces. So long as you know the Green Bible pretty well it won't be a problem, you don't have to know the answer to every question they ask so long as you have a reasonable knowledge.

Yeah, depends on which corporal you get I think. When I did my prmc interview the corporal didnt ask me much, he just told me how I was doing so far in prmc etc. If you're borderline they might grill you abit though, they're nice that way.

The worst bit for nerves is the train from Exeter to the camp...really slow, stops every two minutes, tension just builds. However, after you've been inside for an hour and started chatting to all the other lads, sorted your kit and so on, you'll feel much better. By the time you get to your interview you should know whether to be nervous or not, judged on your performance so far!! But try not to get too worked up, you won't perform to your best if you do (and are more likely to puke!!).

ive got prmc next week i have got he phys down (well i hope so )

I have read the green book and the globe & Laurels but im not sure where the units are at the moment, as a couple of my friends who went down last week where asked that.

are they still on operation telic?

Not on Op Telic. According to the last G&L I have 40 and 42 are on Winter Deployment 04 in Norway, and 45 are in NI. This may now be out of date now though...

Does anyone know of a good website where you can keep track of the latest activities in the Corps?? The Navy website is pish for that sort of thing...

On my interview i was asked several general corps questions and replied to them quickly and correctly, and he just kept asking them untill i got one wrong! He eventually got to

What colour Tunic/uniform did the Duke of York and Albany's Maritime Regiment of Foot wear when they were first formed?

I think the answer is Gold but i didn't get that one right!

I did go through the colours RED, GREEN and BLUE from what i'd seen and read but YELLOW/GOLD didn't come to mind. Oh well. I'm sure i'll not forget in a few weeks time when i'm having the corps histort drilled into me!

daywalker, how much of that little booklet on Corps history have you learned before you go down there?? The training team told us to know it inside out, but there's a hell of a lot of information in there, just wondering if you were told any different, or just to start at the start, or what??
