Sleeping bag into bergan <help>

Post by mercury »

Well I dont know , last month I got a nice long back bergan and last night I tried to fit my army issue doss bag into it

Thing is it took up most of the space

SO what to do ? Usually I ram it in the bottom and this is the only way I can fit it in ! ( standby for funny quotes )

Using the compression sack is even worse , oh woe is me .

Is this a good time to get a nice small civvy bag out of the missus ?

BTW I used to use the engineers pack

stand up, put the dossbag upright in the floor, kneel on it very hard and pull the four straps either site to tighten it. In the end you'll have a basketball sized sleeping bag.

If you've done that and it won't go in just give the 'cker some wellie.

Bergen is a town in Norway.
I seem to remember someone once saying that there was once a Norwegian firm called Bergen that made rucksacks. These became popular with British troops. The name "Bergen" stuck, even when these style of rucksacks were made by UK companies.
I could be wrong though....
